Frequently Asked Questions

How much does counseling cost?

The cost of counseling depends on a number of different factors. If you use insurance the costs will depend on your specific coverage. Self-pay clients pay for services directly out of pocket and we use an income-based sliding scale that that reduces the standard rate if you make below a certain amount of money per year.  Please click HERE to view the income based sliding scale brackets.  ALL clients (Insurance or Self-Pay) will owe a minimum deposit of $30 at the first session. All financial obligations will be discussed and agreed upon in the first 15-20 minutes of the first session.

Can I use my insurance?

Bay Village Counseling will submit claims to Aetna, Medical Mutual, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Healthcare as an “In-Network” provider. Sometimes certain plans within these companies have restrictions that cause claims to be denied. Bay Village Counseling does not verify benefits and it is highly recommended, if you plan to utilize insurance coverage, that you call your insurance company to verify that your specific plan is affiliated with Bay Village Counseling. If a submitted claim is denied or returns unpaid, you are ultimately responsible for the full payment.

What if I thought you accepted my insurance but a claim comes denied?

The client is ultimately responsible for payment. If a claim is submitted and it is denied, then you will be responsible for the denied amount. If the claim is submitted and is not paid because you have not met your yearly deductable, then you are responsible for whatever amount the insurance company says you are responsible for. It is highly recommended if you plan to utilize insurance coverage that you call your insurance company to verify that your specific plan is affiliated with Cold Creek Counseling.
